Pick a page you like and copy and paste the address into the W3 validation page http://validator.w3.org/ and see if it has errors. If it has errors, that means someone didn't take the time to write the code correctly, and that could mean that the page will view and/or function incorrectly on some browsers, and might mean the difference between someone looking at your page, or moving on and not reading it, or not even being able to read and/or use it correctly at all.
